Having begun writing and creating performance and screen projects in 2004, the self penned work ( 'Tar Pit projects' ) began receiving it’s initial recognition among Melbourne’s independent theatre and music scene from 2007 to 2010, amongst other independent collectives such as The Suitcase Royale,  Sanctum Theatre, Black Lung and The Last Tuesday Society, all of which are groups Pete has cross-collaborated or performed with.  The performances typically blend a combination of the mundane and surreal, often depicting characters in some state of sublime delusion and geographic and/or internal extremity.

The projects have attracted involvement from various members of Melbourne's creative community, including regular visual contributions from artist Carmen Reid.
